Which AI provider processes my data, and under what terms?
Overview
AI-assisted features send the scope you choose (see “What research material is used when I run an AI task?”) to an AI provider’s API to generate a response: Inception Labs (Mercury) first, with OpenAI as the backup if the first provider cannot answer. Audio transcription uses OpenAI. This processing is governed by each provider’s API terms, which are separate from their consumer chat products. Review the providers’ current API terms and data usage policies directly, since providers can update them.
